 Explanation is a text which tells processes relating to forming of natural, social, scientific and cultural phenomena. Explanation text is to say ‘why’ and ‘how’ of the forming of the phenomena. It is often found in science, geography and history text books.

In Indonesia, we are very familiar with the word " Tsunami ". This natural disaster has ever killed thousands of lives in Banda Aceh a few years ago. Indonesia mourned, the world mourned. Then, how the Tsunami happens? Here is a brief explanation of the process of how the Asian tsunami happens.

Tsunamis can occur if there is a phenomenon which causes the displacement of large amounts of water in the ocean, such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides, and meteors that fall to Earth. However, 90% of tsunamis is the result of underwater earthquakes.

Vertical movement in the Earth's crust in the bottom of the ocean causes a sudden up or down movement of sea floor which then causes the water balance disorders above it. This disturbance causes the occurrence of the flow of the massive sea water energy, that once it reaches the shore, it becomes huge waves resulting Tsunami.

Definition of analytical exposition text is actually very easy to understand. Word “Analytical” means, “examining or liking to examine things very carefully” (Cambridge). That is, (examining or relating to checking / testing something carefully). Then, the meaning of exposition, I have explained in the article about hortatory exposition, that is “a comprehensive description” or a broad explanation.

This, the definition of Analytical Exposition can be understood as a text that tries to provide a comprehensive explanation of a problem by displaying the opinions that support it carefully.

While the main purpose of analytical exposition text is, “to try/attempt to influence the reader to believe something by presenting one side of the argument.” It means trying to convince the reader to believe something by giving one side of opinion only. “

Referring to the purpose of analytical exposition, this does not mean that analytical exposition text contains only one argument, but contains various arguments that have the same purpose.

– To analyze the topic and to convince or influence the reader that this opinion is correct and supported by arguments
– To convince the reader that the topics presented was an important topic to be discussed or gained attention by way of providing arguments or opinions that support the main idea or topic

Why is Physical Activity and Fitness Important? There are some advantages when we get fitnes. SOme of them are:

Physical activity is essential to prevent and reduce risks of many diseases and improve physical and mental health. It can even help you live longer—research from the American Journal of Preventative Medicine indicates that regular exercise can add up to five years to your life.

Physical activity also keeps you in shape so you can enjoy leisure activities and safely perform work and home chores. It offers great mental and social benefits as well. The Lancet released a series of studies that attribute positive outcomes to physical activity, including “a sense of purpose and value, a better quality of life, improved sleep, and reduced stress, as well as stronger relationships and social connectedness.”

On the other hand, lack of physical activity is associated with increased risks of healthy problems.

The Ant and the Dove

One hot day, an ant was seeking for some water. After walking around for a moment, she came to a spring. To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell unintentionally into the water.

She could have sunk if a dove up a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly put off a leaf from a tree and dropped it immediately into the water near the struggling ant. Then the ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground.

Not long after at that, there was a hunter nearby who was throwing out his net towards the dove, hoping to trap it in this way.

Guessing what he should do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net and the dove flew away quickly from this net.

 Biography M.Salah

Salah started his senior career with Egyptian club El Mokawloon, departing shortly thereafter to join Swiss side Basel for an undisclosed fee. In Switzerland, his performances attracted Premier League side Chelsea, who signed him for in 2014. However, he was used sparingly in his debut season and was allowed to leave on loan to Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Roma, with the latter eventually signing him permanently for €15 million. Following his role in helping Roma to a second-placed finish and a club record points-tally in 2017, Salah returned to the Premier League to sign for Liverpool for a then club-record fee of £36.9 million.

In his second spell in England, Salah adapted his game from a natural winger to a forward, going on to break the Premier League scoring record for a 38-game season and subsequently receiving the Premier League Golden Boot after netting 32 goals in 36 league games. Salah's performances earned him a number of individual accolades, including the PFA Players' Player of the Year. He also came third in the 2018 Best FIFA Men's Player award. In the following season, he finished as the Premier League's joint-top goalscorer, and helped Liverpool win the 2019 UEFA Champions League. The following season, he helped end the club's 30 year league title drought by winning the 2019–20 Premier League.

At international level, Salah represented Egypt at youth level. Following his performances at the 2012 Summer Olympics, he was named CAF Most Promising African Talent of the Year. Since then, he has helped Egypt reach the final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, and was top scorer during CAF qualification to help the team qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Born and raised in the Austrian Empire, Tesla studied engineering and physics in the 1870s without receiving a degree, gaining practical experience in the early 1880s working in telephony and at Continental Edison in the new electric power industry. In 1884 he emigrated to the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen. He worked for a short time at the Edison Machine Works in New York City before he struck out on his own. With the help of partners to finance and market his ideas, Tesla set up laboratories and companies in New York to develop a range of electrical and mechanical devices. His alternating current (AC) induction motorand related polyphase AC patents, licensed by Westinghouse Electric in 1888, earned him a considerable amount of money and became the cornerstone of the polyphase system which that company eventually marketed.

Attempting to develop inventions he could patent and market, Tesla conducted a range of experiments with mechanical oscillators/generators, electrical discharge tubes, and early X-ray imaging. He also built a wireless-controlled boat, one of the first ever exhibited. Tesla became well known as an inventor and demonstrated his achievements to celebrities and wealthy patrons at his lab, and was noted for his showmanship at public lectures. Throughout the 1890s, Tesla pursued his ideas for wireless lighting and worldwide wireless electric power distribution in his high-voltage, high-frequency power experiments in New York and Colorado Springs. In 1893, he made pronouncements on the possibility of wireless communication with his devices. Tesla tried to put these ideas to practical use in his unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower project, an intercontinental wireless communication and power transmitter, but ran out of funding before he could complete it.^[8]

After Wardenclyffe, Tesla experimented with a series of inventions in the 1910s and 1920s with varying degrees of success. Having spent most of his money, Tesla lived in a series of New York hotels, leaving behind unpaid bills. He died in New York City in January 1943.^[9] Tesla's work fell into relative obscurity following his death, until 1960, when the General Conference on Weights and Measuresnamed the SI unit of magnetic flux density the teslain his honor.^[10] There has been a resurgence in popular interest in Tesla since the 1990s.

Generic Structure of Descriptive Text

When writing descriptive text, there are some generic structures (actually not mandatory) for our writing to be true. The arrangement is:

1. Identification: (contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will be described.)

2.  Description: contains a description of something such as animal, things, place or person by describing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what the writer describe.

Purpose of Descriptive text

Language Feature of Descriptive Text

– Specific participant : has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one). for example: Bandengan beach, my house, Borobudur temple, uncle Jim
– The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example: a beautiful beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.
– The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present because it tells the fact of the object described.
– Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, cut etc….

       Sari Ringgung Beach

Sari Ringgung is one of the famous beaches in Lampung. It is located in Pesawaran, Lampung Province. This beautiful beach can be reached for about 30 minutes from the city of Bandar Lampung.

Sari Ringgung Beach is a beautiful beach which has a beautiful mountainous view around the beach. The people can enjoy the beautiful view while swimming in the blue sea with friends or family. Besides, this beach also offers some facilities for the visitors as below:

1. Sand Embossed

Near the beach of Sari Ringgung, there is one tourist spot that is famous. It is sand maritime tourist spot. It only takes about 15-25 minutes using a small boat if you want to go there. Small boats with a capacity of 10-15 people ready to take you to the sand maritime spot. You will be escorted by local fishermen who switched professions to become boat rental services. You can enjoy the view along the way to the sand maritime spot and also the view on the spot.

2. Floating Mosque

Floating Mosque Al Aminah, the name of the mosque, is located in the coastal region of Ringgung. Unlike the other floating mosques in Lampung, the mosque here is actually floating in the ocean. Floating Mosque Al Aminah is using cage system. At times this mosque can only move with the waves. The mosque is made of wood boards which are formed with a very unique and simple design.

3. Mountain view

Mountain view is one of the most visited spots, because of its position which is located at the top of the hill so that you can see the beauty of the beach of Sari Ringgung. You can even see the sand arise from the mountain view and a beautiful view of the deep blue sea.

4. Boat Cafe & Resto

Ringgung Sari beach also has facilities for meetings, family events, birthday event and others, one of which is Boat Cafe & Resto. This is a simple but nice place for holding meetings on which the people not only get information during the meetings, but also see the beautiful view of the beach.

5. Futsal

The beauty of this beach is its white sand which is very broad and the intensity of the wave is relatively small so that it is suitable for children and families to have fun in this beach. The beach also provides a Futsal court that can be used for the exercise for families.

Prambanan Temple

Prambanan Temple or also known as Lara Jonggrang Temple is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. It is precisely located in about 17 km northeast of Yogyakarta city, Central Java. It was built in 9th century during the reign of Sanjaya dynasty and dedicated to the three main Hindu Gods or Trimurti; Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Its greatness and magnificence attracts many visitors from around the globe every year.

Prambanan Temple was built on a four-square plane. Each plane is separated by four walls with four large gates on the middle as the entrance. The whole temple complex is divided into three major zones; the outer, middle, and inner zone. The outer zone is an open space and the bottommost terrace of the temple. The second area is the middle zone where hundreds of small temples were standing. The last area is the inner zone. It is the holiest and highest terrace of the temple. There are three major temples of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma that are standing on the inner zone, together with three small temple of their animal vehicle.

The Definition Of Procedure Text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform different processes in a sequence of steps. This text uses simple present tense, often imperative sentences. It also uses the temporal conjunction such as first, second, then, next, finally, etc.

The generic structures of procedure text are  :

·         Materials (not required for all procedural texts)

·         Steps (the actions that must be taken)

            Purpose

The purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make something. The information is presented in a logical sequence of events which is broken up into small sequenced steps. These texts are usually written in the present tense. The most common example of a procedural text is a recipe.

Here’s the steps:

1. Open the lid half-way
2. Take all the seasoning, such as oil, chilli powder, dried vegetables, savory powder, and the fork
3. Cut all the seasoning’s pack use scissors and also open the fork’s pack
4. Put all the seasoning into the cup
5. Close the lid, and wait for 5 minutes
6. Slice the sausage use knife, adn then put it into the cup
7. Stir it well until all the seasoning is mixed evenly
8. And the instant noodle is already to serve

For your information that insant noodle is no good for your health, the maximun you may to eat is 3 times a week

    A. Definition

   1 .      Text that explain how something works or how to use instruction/operation manuals e.g. how to use the video, the computer, the tape recorder, the photocopier, the fax.

   2 .      Text that instruct how to do a particular activity e.g. recipes, rules for games, science experiments, road safety rules.

   3 .      Text that deal with human behavior, e.g. how to live happily, how to succeed.
